The Good

This interactive visualization definitely has its postives.

 

  • Does a very impressive job plotting data which allows user to gain more meaning of data points that is plotted.                                        

  • The simplicity of the visualization makes it very easy for all users to understand how to use it as well as why to use it.                                 

  • Filtering by teams is very user friendly as user only has to click a sport to view data for that selected sport. Also having each sport have a specified color allows user to know which data points is which team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

  • This visualization provided exactly what information it said it would provide. No more or no less.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

  • The color choice was well done white a black and white grid with each sport teams having a specified color. Makes the visualization just that much more user friendly.

The Bad

There is no such thing as the perfection interactive visualization.

 

  • When you select a sport that has alot of data points it's very congested and hard to view specific data for a specific point. For example, when you select American Football data points are congested.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

  • A few sports are lacking more data. For example, when you select Hockey there is only one data point.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

  • Data is outdated. Seems that alot of data is missing and some of the data that is there has not been updated as of yet.                                                                       

From using the application one thing i learned is the fact that franchise value of a team correlated directly to the number of championship won. Meaning if franchise value of a team was in the billions than they are more likely to win more championships. Mainly because the team and coach are very talented and are payed more. Also, Soccer teams always have a large franchise value.
